KS-U-Blocks
KS-U-Schalen.
KS-U-Blocks are used for ring beams, lintels, supports and slots in brickwork. The are dimensionally accurate and plane surfaced as is the case with the other KS block formats.
KS-U-Blocks are easy to install. For fair-faced brickwork, the abutment joints of the U-Blocks are mortared, thus creating the form of a continuous lintel of KS brickwork.
Ring beams
Ring beams are to be used if ceilings without stiffening panels are used (e.g. wooden beam ceilings) or if gliding sheets are used under the ceiling supports. Ring beams are to be measured for the concrete core according to statics calculation. The manner of embedding a reinforcement (offset joints with a lap of at least 15x steel diameter or at least 20 cm) as well as inserting and sealing the concrete is not different than that of encased reinforced concrete beams. The laborious encasing of ring beams as reinforced concrete beams (setting up, pre-tensioning and stripping the forms) is not necessary.
